Directions
Comfort Food Beef Stew, This is one of our winter favorites!!, A really great stew! Fixed it for dinner, family liked it. Family wanted it for lunch the next day, and asked if any was left for dinner that night. I did deviate from the recipe a bit….. a heaping teaspoon of beef base in the water, and 1/3 cup of red wine before adding the veggies. Will definitely make it again., This recipe is fantastic! Simple ingredients. Simple preparation. Nothing beats it. A few changes I made is that I added beef broth instead of water and added around 1/3 of the vegetables in the first step to increase the flavor of the broth. I doubled the recipe because I love leftovers. I also added 1/2 cup red wine to both simmers. I omitted red peppers and added green beans.
