Kittencal’s Slow Cooker Eye of Round Roast With Gravy,Slow cooking is the best method for an eye of round roast, I have cooked eye of round many times in a Crock-Pot with fantastic results, and you can use blade roast in place of the eye of round. The gravy from this roast goes well with mashed potatoes. Do not add in any extra salt to this recipe and use only low sodium beef broth for this. If you are an onion lover, then you could add in a small chopped or sliced onion if desired. Remember, do not lift the lid of the Crock-Pot while cooking. Each time you do, the heat is lost and you will need to cook it for a longer time.,OMGOSH – DELICIOUS! I am not a roast person – never buy them, don’t even know what to buy or how to cook them and overall try not to eat too much red meat due to cholesterol. That said, I found an eye of round roast that was REDUCED at the grocery store and saw a simple “drop it in a crock pot, add a bottle of marinade and eat it 8 hours later” type of recipe. I did a little research because I wanted to be sure the roast was as good as possible, and I found THIS recipe. I will definitely make again. I followed all directions and ingredients, by the way. My old granny always told me to be sure and brown on all sides a cheaper cut of meat and slow roast it or pressure cook it. This was/is good advice! I’m sure that THIS recipe made an otherwise not-noteworthy cut of meat delicious for my family! BTW, I paid $8.50 for a 2.13 lb roast and there were easily 4 servings…so $2.13/serving – a win!,Thank you so much tried the recipe as is for card club…amazing! Tried others before but the roast was too tough. Was asked for the recipe!
