It’s the very best I’ve ever eaten, and my guests agreed with me My husband prompted me to make this sandwich with two pieces of bread, since open face sandwiches are not his thing So I layered the ingredients, minus the prosciutto, between 1/4 slices of wide Italian bread and slowly sauteed the sandwiches in some olive oil on my large griddle until everything was hot and the bread was light brown and crispy sort of like a paninni Personally, I think that’s the way to go with this amazing sandwich that has me dreaming of when I can make another one!
