    Salt Potatoes New York Style,For real authentic Upstate NY flavor use 1 cup of salt. Try these for your next BBQ or crab boil! YUM! Leftovers can be used for home fries.,These are terrific. used a total of 5 pounds in the salt water and they still turned out perfect, if not even a little extra salty. I ate these with sauteed spinach and mushrooms, and a little greek yogurt.,I was raised in the Finger Lakes Region of NY State. I find salt potatoes a nice dish to bring to gatherings, but rather than having butter on the side for dipping I put them in a large slow cooker with melted butter for serving. Since I now live in the mid-west it is something new for others to try.

    Place the Potatoes and Water in a Large Pot.

    Pour the Salt Over the Potatoes, Cover, and Bring to a Boil Over High Heat.

    Reduce the Heat to Medium and Cook For 25 Minutes, or Until the Potatoes Are Fork-Tender.

    Serve With the Melted Butter For Dipping.
