2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk, plus more if necessary
1 egg
3 tablespoons scallions, minced
2 cups freshly scraped corn kernels, mashed
1 tablespoon jalapeno pepper, minced
