Best Breakfast Casserole Ever!, So quick and easy to make A hit with everyone and makes great leftovers I found this online somewhere years ago I wanted something that didn’t have to sit over night and I don’t like the soggy bread in most casseroles Once I found this, I never looked back You can spice it up with veggies or whatever you want but below is the basic recipe I found , No Flavor I spent abut $24 to make this dish for a breakfast-at-work day Any dish the that has pre-made crescent rolls runs into the risk of food tasting like a pizza made by a five year old (No disrespect to five year olds ) I did mess up on my own used pre-shredded cheese Prepackaged shredded cheese comes coated with a non-stick-to-itself coating that may of made the mix too dry ( I added 5 more eggs to moisten the mix~ maybe I should have used milk?) Also , I read a review that said, When using a gas oven~ reduce the temperature by 15 degrees I cooked it 45 minutes trying to get a darker melt on the cheese By that time the the crescent roll base had turn dark brown Should I have not cooked in in a pyrex dish?
used free-range eggs, Pillsbury Crescent rolls, Harris Teeter cheese, Jimmy Dean pork sausage , all good ingredients yet the dish lacked flavor Next time I make something with fresh vegetables and spices , We’d invited a couple over for a late breakfast the other day & this casserole (although I cut the recipe in half) was on the table in no time! I did use a minimum amount of mild Italian sausage along with just 4 large eggs, & my usual colby-jack cheese! Very, very nice & something I’ll be making again, for sure! Thanks for sharing the recipe! [Made & reviewed for one of my adopted chefs in this Spring’s Pick A Chef event]
