Directions
Donna’s Chinese Chews, Not sure where the name came from or how many this makes., This is a recipe use every year for Christmas baking. I do add 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Bake at 325 for only 25 to 30 minutes, then remove cut into small squares. While still warm roll each square into a ball, then dredge into powdered icing sugar. then dredge again in powdered sugar. These keep well in a tin can for a long time., This is an OLD recipe that I also have in a cookbook dated 1947. The recipe I have calls for baking these at 300F for 20 minutes.
