Adjust Servings:

2 cups sugar
2 large eggs at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups oatmeal (not instant)
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional if using salted butter or reduce amount of salt)
1 teaspoon baking powder (a pinch more to make them softer)
1 teaspoon baking soda
12 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (any kind)
