Egyptian Fool Fava Beans Traditional

Features:
    Cuisine:

Hello, I have always had a taste for middle eastern food and this time of the year is perfect for making a hearty warm dish of satisfying egyptian foule. So today I was in the mood for something different as well as being healthy and decided that I was going to make a pot of foule since the last time I made it was roughly three years ago. Below is a simple inexpensive list of ingredients that used. 3 cans of Egyptian Fava Beans 1 clove of fresh garlic 1 small onion 1 jalapeno pepper 1 good sized tomato ground cumin Sea salt Extra virgin olive oil So it starts out by peeling and chopping the fresh garlic chopping the jalapeno pepper and onion and putting them into a bowel. Next I slice my tomato and put it into a bowel as well. In a heavy two quart sauce pan pour two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and heat it up just to the point before it smokes and dump the bowel containing garlic, onion, and jalapeno pepper into the pan and saute for roughly two minutes. Stir in the tomatoes and add in a pinch of the sea salt, 1/2 a tsp of cumin and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes start to cook down a little. Add in 1 can of undrained fava beans, and 2 cans of drained fava beans, then bring ingredients to a boil stirring occasionally. Once the mixture of ingredients are boiling reduce heat a little and continue stirring until desired consistency and remove from the heat and allow it to thicken up and drizzle a little more olive oil, and garnish with thin sliced tomatoes, onions, and sliced black olives or tahini sauce if you like. Serve with warmed pita bread and enjoy yourself.

Egyptian Fool (Fava Beans) Traditional Breakfast, This is a very common food here in Egypt Due to its cost, which is extremely low, it is a popular dish for many With this recipe you can enjoy a traditional Egyptian breakfast in the comfort of your home! There is a LONG way to make this too, using dried fava beans and soaking and then cooking, this recipe makes it A LOT easier and in my opinion is even better! Enjoy!, Hello, I have always had a taste for middle eastern food and this time of the year is perfect for making a hearty warm dish of satisfying egyptian foule So today I was in the mood for something different as well as being healthy and decided that I was going to make a pot of foule since the last time I made it was roughly three years ago Below is a simple inexpensive list of ingredients that used 3 cans of Egyptian Fava Beans 1 clove of fresh garlic 1 small onion 1 jalapeno pepper 1 good sized tomato ground cumin Sea salt Extra virgin olive oil So it starts out by peeling and chopping the fresh garlic chopping the jalapeno pepper and onion and putting them into a bowel Next I slice my tomato and put it into a bowel as well In a heavy two quart sauce pan pour two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and heat it up just to the point before it smokes and dump the bowel containing garlic, onion, and jalapeno pepper into the pan and saute for roughly two minutes Stir in the tomatoes and add in a pinch of the sea salt, 1/2 a tsp of cumin and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes start to cook down a little Add in 1 can of undrained fava beans, and 2 cans of drained fava beans, then bring ingredients to a boil stirring occasionally Once the mixture of ingredients are boiling reduce heat a little and continue stirring until desired consistency and remove from the heat and allow it to thicken up and drizzle a little more olive oil, and garnish with thin sliced tomatoes, onions, and sliced black olives or tahini sauce if you like Serve with warmed pita bread and enjoy yourself , I love this recipe! The foul turned out to be so delicious! I never used Tahini for this dish before and now that I did it added a creamy consistency to the foul which I truly enjoyed I love garlic so my only addition to the recipe was about 1 tsp of garlic powder I also used one of your special garnish suggestion which was chopped parsley I tried other ways of preparing Egyptian foul but this recipe definitely delivered! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!
