Chinese 5 Spice Oatmeal Cookies

Features:
    Cuisine:

This is an OK cookie but I kept waiting for the kick, but flavor was lacking. It had good texture and baked nicely but with all the 5 star reviews I expected more. I did follow the recipe exactly. I will likely make again but with some tweaks of maybe more spices or dried cranberries or icing. The picture posted with this recipe looks like Christmas cut out sugar cookies - mine didn't look like it at all.

Chinese 5-Spice Oatmeal Cookies, When I purchased a bottle of Chinese 5-spice powder from my Watkins lady, this is the recipe that came with it. Chinese 5-spice is a blend of aromatic seasonings and includes the licoricy taste of star anise. You can find Chinese 5-spice prebottled in many grocery stores or at an Asian market (or from your local Watkins rep)., This is an OK cookie but I kept waiting for the kick, but flavor was lacking.
