2/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups fresh cherries (do not thaw if frozen) or 1 1/2 cups frozen cherries, halved and pitted (do not thaw if frozen)
