Almas Pite (Hungarian Apple Cake), This is a moist, buttery apple cake The dough is best made the night before, put in the fridge and then filled and baked the next morning , I could just kiss you for posting this recipe! I have torn the internet apart trying to find a recipe for apple cake that my Hungarian mother used to make This was so good and what Hungarian food doesn’t have sour cream in it? Just loved it , My husband said his Hungarian family always slices the apples thinly, on a mandolin, rather than grating, and sometimes adds raisins But otherwise this is exactly what he’d been trying to describe to me Delicious; better than apple pie!
