Almond Crowned Kugel,My mother used to make this for very special dairy meals. used to think that when I started cooking I would make this all the time, but now I know my mother was right (she always is), this is so rich you should only eat it a few times a year. You have been warned!,Wonderful recipe. I left out the 1/2 cup of sugar and added a minced apple in it’s place. Worked well. I did use the topping so it wasn’t totally sugar free. Oh and I didn’t have farmer cheese so I just ditched it. I also used VCO coconut oil in the topping. Saved me a step.,Delicious. I will definately make this again. People at the Thanksgiving potluck that I attended had not heard of Kugel, and I could not think of a better recipe to introduce them. thank you.
