Amish Cup Cheese ‘ Spreading Cheese’, This shmear kase (smear cheese if translated literally) is an Amish recipe in this area This is served at Amish weddings and church dinners – and of course in many homes year-round! It is generally eaten on bread or toast, and often topped with jelly ENJOY!, This was good – kind of like a home-made version of Cheeze Whiz I only made 1/5 of the recipe as there are only 2 people in my house! I added 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder for a little extra flavor Seems like a good thing to have around for snacks I personally might reduce the amount of liquid a bit next time ( used 3/4 cup water and 3/4 cup milk to 1 pound of cheese), as the mixture remained slightly liquidy after refrigerating overnight, and I was hoping for something a bit firmer – mine had a hard time staying put once I spread it on the bread 😉 But that’s just my preference A solid, easy recipe , This shmear kase (smear cheese if translated literally) is an Amish recipe in this area This is served at Amish weddings and church dinners – and of course in many homes year-round!
