Amish Sour Cream Apple Pie,I found this recipe in my files. I dont remember where I got it, but it’s good. I love the simplicity of the recipe.,Pie was great but my topping was mush, so i added approx.1 cup of oatmeal another 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup flour with a dash or 2 cinnamon to get it to crumble.,This is from a Wrigley’s gum insert/ad from the 1950s or 1960s. However, the baking instructions have been lost over time. The pie is supposed to be baked for 15 minutes at high (i.e. 425) to get the crust going and then 30 more at 350 to bake. I keep baking until I am happy that the apples are the softnest I want. Then the crumble is added and baked for only 10 minutes (this needs to be a short time or the top is going to liquify and carmalize on the top).
