Amish Sour Cream Apple Pie, I found this recipe in my files I dont remember where I got it, but it’s good I love the simplicity of the recipe , Pie was great but my topping was mush, so i added approx 1 cup of oatmeal another 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup flour with a dash or 2 cinnamon to get it to crumble , This is from a Wrigley’s gum insert/ad from the 1950s or 1960s However, the baking instructions have been lost over time The pie is supposed to be baked for 15 minutes at high (i e 425) to get the crust going and then 30 more at 350 to bake I keep baking until I am happy that the apples are the softnest I want Then the crumble is added and baked for only 10 minutes (this needs to be a short time or the top is going to liquify and carmalize on the top)
