Authentic Italian Meatballs, Meatball recipes are often challenged by chefs who claim, Mine are the best! Even though my meatballs ARE the best, I will make no such claim Try them for yourself! This meatball recipe was given to me by my father who got it from a little old lady from Italy that he knew It’s amazing that she gave up her recipe to him, but I sure am glad she did!, Like a lot of original and authentic foods, Italian recipes are regional Folks from the south use different spices than those from the north Please don’t get hung up on this If you disagree with what the recipe calls for, either don’t make it or tweak it I know my grandparents, who immigrated from northern Italy would love these meatballs My tweak is that I cook them before adding them to my marinara , Wow, wow, wow! They are TENDER meatballs! I had no idea what that cheese is in the recipe, so used parmesan And I baked them at 350 degrees, 25 minutes, so I can freeze them Tender, tender, tender! I can understand if people want to customize it to their tastes, extra garlic or onion, etc But if you are looking for a TENDER meatball, this is the one!
