Bacon Wrapped Dates With Almonds,Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise…THESE ARE WONDERFUL. They are always the very first thing to go at a party. When I catered I always told my customers to order 2-3 times more of these than anything else. Most people expect scallops but are pleasantly surprised by the sweet wonderful flavor inside. A combination of sweet, crunchy, salty and smoky is a real winner! You won’t be sorry you went out on a limb to try these. You can prep ahead of time, freeze and then pull them out of the freezer and bake right before the party.,A favorite recipe! Hint: Be sure to use THINLY sliced bacon, as the recipe says. use 1/3 slice per date, if the date is on the smaller size.. I also dredge the bacon slices in brown sugar before wrapping the dates. You can place them on a wire rack over a lined cookie sheet for more even cooking. Yummy!,Love this recipe. I currently reside in the Middle East and Almond Stuffed Dates are well liked and available in jumbo sizes, they usually are stuffed with 2 or 3 large almonds. Now as you might be able to gather bacon is not looked at favorably by the locals, but us ExPats are able to obtain it in specialty stores. It goes almost without saying that to wrap a local favorite with bacon and serving it at our last party was a great success…
