Baked Ziti,This is a tried and true recipe. Good with a crisp salad and some garlic bread.,Easy and does not use store-bought canned sauce. But, two things make it better — add ground beef or Italian sausage to the sauce and more ricotta and Italian cheeses!! IMHO, I’d say this recipe makes 4-6 servings, not 6-8.,I chose this recipe because it did not use canned marinara sauce. It turned out to be easy anyway and tasty too. used unsalted tomato sauce and paste, so I should have increased the salt a bit. However, it was still enjoyable. I did add a little more cheese and threw in a small amount of Swiss cheese that I had left in the fridge just to use it up. I don’t think that made any change to the taste. I baked mine in a 13″ x 9″ baking dish for a while longer than 30 min. because I wanted that nice crust around the edges.
