Best Baked Potato, Another keeper from Alton Brown’s show Good Eats! I don’t make baked potatoes any other way now , I do the 1st steps but I put them on a sheet pan and the bottom gets a good crust on it which is good to eat too This method is far superior to the old wrap in foil method The salt makes the difference , It IS the best baked potato recipe!! Heat Oven to 350f and Position Racks in Top and Bottom Thirds. |

Wash Potato (or Potatoes) Thoroughly With a Stiff Brush and Cold Running Water. |

Dry, Then Using a Standard Fork Poke 8 to 12 Deep Holes All Over the Spud So That Moisture Can Escape During Cooking. |
