    I wanted a topping for grilled brats at a party, so basically doubled this recipe without the brats. I thought it was too sweet and ended up adding another jar of sauerkraut and juice, and brought back the 'saur' taste. Also discovered that if you buy Bavarian-style Kraut, it already teaching has caraway seeds, so I didn't have to buy those extra. Still added the bay leaf, dumped in crock pot and refrigerated. Next day, just got it good and hot, and served it in the crock. Very popular, and EASY the day of a party!

    Saute Onions in Butter.

    When the Onions Are Caramelized Add Garlic, Saute For 1 Minute.

    Add Undrained Sauerkraut, Sugar, Celery Seed and Bay Leaf.

    Cover and Simmer 1/2 Hour.

    Add Meat and Simmer For 45 Minutes.
