Directions
Brats and Sauerkraut, Had this at a farm sell. The sauerkraut on top of the brat was just great! This can easily be made for a large crowd and keep in a roaster., I wanted a topping for grilled brats at a party, so basically doubled this recipe without the brats. I thought it was too sweet and ended up adding another jar of sauerkraut and juice, and brought back the ‘saur’ taste. Also discovered that if you buy Bavarian-style Kraut, it already teaching has caraway seeds, so I didn’t have to buy those extra. Still added the bay leaf, dumped in crock pot and refrigerated. Next day, just got it good and hot, and served it in the crock. Very popular, and EASY the day of a party!, This is absolutely awesome. I just added a little thyme and basil and a 1/2 can of beer and it was about the best thing I’ve had in a long while. Served deli mustard on the side, it was great. Thanks.

Saute Onions in Butter. |

When the Onions Are Caramelized Add Garlic, Saute For 1 Minute. |
