Cake Mix Sugar Cookies,This tastes like a real cut out cookie and it is easy because it starts with a cake mix. I make these a lot and no one ever guess that it is made with a cake mix. Some times I sprinkle the cookies with cinammon sugar before I bake them. Cooking time does not reflect chill time.,while easy – this recipe doesn’t take into account the usually smaller size boxes of mix (now 15 not 18) which sadly I didn’t notice either. It was sticky but with enough flour, it rolled. It does spread as others noted so any detail in your cutter is lost. My biggest problem was, however, i wanted a cut/roll out cookie – and while this does roll and cut, the results were VERY FRAGILE and so about half of mine went to the scrap pile (we still eat them but…not good for gift or show). Perhaps an adjustment to the size of box mix would help, using a smaller cutter (this was a 3.5″ snowflake), or….well – something else. But for me – I will try a different box recipe next time. Taste: good.,I love this recipe for quick cut out cookies – that fact that you add butter (use grass fed unsalted butter) means they taste like butter cookies made from scratch. The box simply mixed the dry ingredients for you, saving time.
