Canadian Maple Glazed Walnuts, This recipe uses maple syrup and cinnamon to spice up walnuts Simple to do and very good Posted for ZWT4 , This is a great recipe but I found that toasting the nuts in the oven as a final step really makes a difference They turn out crunchy and delicious I would recommend doing that They make great gifts and everyone loves them , used Pecans which worked well Next time I will use 2 5 cups of nuts to use up all of the glaze Also added a pinch of nutmeg which tasted nice I spread them out (so they didn’t touch one another) on parchment paper and placed them in the fridge They were still sticky after cooling, otherwise I would have given them a 5 Very tasty though!

In an Skillet or Saucepan, Stir Together Syrup, Cinnamon, Butter, and Salt. Cook and Stir Over Medium Heat Until Mixture Becomes Brown and Starts to Thicken. |

Add Vanilla, Then Nuts and Toss Until the Nuts Are Covered Evenly With Glaze. Quickly Spread and Cool on Wax Paper. |
