Well here is another way you might just like!,As I am a pom living in Australia,I had to do the obvious swap,and exchange Vegemite for Marmite. You really can’t beat that yummy yeasty goodness topped with gooey melted cheese…just delicious!! Made for Make my Recipe,Edition 9.,Thank you for a wonderful trip down childhood memory lane as ate my vegemite and cheese on toast for breakfast – round here vegemite can be for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack. used wholemeal/wholegrain toasted bread and a vintage cheddar and put it under the grill/broiler till melted and bubbly.     Cut Breadstick Into 3cm Thick Slices on the Diagonal, but not All the Way Through.

    Spread Each Cut Side of Bread Alternately With Butter Then Vegemite and Place in a Piece of Cheese. Continue Until Each Split Has Vegemite and Cheese in Each. Wrap in Foil and Bake at 180c Fan-Forced For 10 Minutes.

    Unwrap the Top of the Foil, to Expose the Top of the Breadstick, and Return to the Oven For a Further 5 Minutes.

    Serve Immediately.
