Chicken Breasts in Sour Cream Gravy, This is a family favorite My mom and sister always want this for thier birthday dinners , Succulent & the sauce goes so well with rice (or potatoes)! THE SAUCE makes this recipe special! When I saw this recipe a short while back, I told my wife that we had to preview it for a supper club we are in (for one of the upcoming times it is our turn to host the group) Thanks for a keeper! Pretty much made the recipe as directed except did not use the onion rings for us the to taste seasoning choices give a lot of latitude for individual tastes (and I suppose other seasoning combinations could be tried) Might also want to consider adding freshly sliced mushrooms to the sauce for special guest occasions I agree that the sauce should be doubled if you desire to have plenty for the chicken AND additional sauce for a side as well There are a lot of FAT calories in this so it will NOT be an every week go-to recipe, but it is PERFECT for those special occasions or special indulgence times!Might be possible to scale back on the sour cream & substitute some lower fat (or FF) Greek-style yogurt while maintaining the creamy consistency of the sauce! (Personally my wife and I just do not like the taste/texture of no-fat versions of sour cream, cream cheese, or mayonnaise!) Smaller portions or reading the recipe and making something else lighter are always options With age comes weight watching & less frequent indulgences!
