We enjoyed this but felt it wasn't as good as other chili recipes we've tried, and it could have used more spice. If I make it again, I'd add more spices like cayenne pepper plus some cumin, oregano, cinnamon, etc. I think using generic chili powder played a part in the blandness. Some sharp cheddar on top takes it up a notch!

Chili by Lynette, This recipe was created by me! I have perfected the recipe many times over using various guinea pigs, and each time, they say it is better. This recipe has won a couple of chili cook-offs. It is a traditional recipe. You can cook it using beans or without. It is great regardless of how you cook it. I would serve it with grilled cheese sandwiches or mexican cornbread. Always top it with a little shredded cheese to difuse the heat!, We enjoyed this but felt it wasn’t as good as other chili recipes we’ve tried, and it could have used more spice. If I make it again, I’d add more spices like cayenne pepper plus some cumin, oregano, cinnamon, etc. I think using generic chili powder played a part in the blandness. Some sharp cheddar on top takes it up a notch!, Wonderful chili. My dh & I enjoyed it very much. I didn’t have any ground beef so used a mixture of ground vension and ground pork, that I added to the sirlion steak. What flavor and texture this has. You can really taste the chili…I also used a good quality habanero and chipolte sauces …yumm. I put this in my crockpot on low and it cooked all afternoon. How easy was that? I will make this again and again. My neighbor wants to give you 5*+++, it truly was enjoyed by all, served with soda bread scones. Thanks for sharing.
