Chinese Five-Spice Turkey Burgers, These are yummy! They taste sort of like a pot sticker. This recipe comes from Rachael Ray’s 365: No Repeats cookbook. I would have love to have added or topped the burgers with chopped fresh (or rehydrated) shiitake mushrooms, but DH wouldn’t have liked that. You can swap out the meat for chicken or pork. That is what the original recipe calls for. Serve this with an Asian-style slaw and fresh pineapple. YUM!, These are a nice change of pace from the standard turkey burger or hamburger. I get our ground turkey from Costco in 1.25 lbs. packages, not the full 1.5 lbs. that the recipe instructs. For us, use the full amount of ginger, garlic, and green onion and use closer to 1.75 tsps. of Chinese Five Spice and a scant three tablespoons of low sodium soy sauce. They are easy and quick to make and moist and flavorful every time. We like them with recipe #73574 – Spicy Asian Green Beans., This had way too much something, so I need to do it again, and actually cut everything in half. used 1 lb. of turkey, but the called-for amounts of everything else. I also ate it alone, and not on a bun. I really think even with the extra amount of spices and condiments, it would have been better had I put it on a bun with lettuce, tomato, etc. I am reviewing this so I remember which recipe I tried, but it’s absolutely worth trying again. VERY moist.
