Christmas Morning Casserole at the Farmhouse, Another winner from the ladies at Gooseberry Patch–I’ve been making some version of this for YEARS!–and the family loves it no matter what I throw in the pan The recipe calls for Monterey Jack cheese, but I’ve had equally good results with Cheddar or a mixture of Ched with Swiss or Provolone And I’ve NEVER thawed the hash-browns (having not enough sense to actually PLAN much ahead it seems!), so you can folllow the recipe and thaw them, or fly by the seat of your pants and use them frozen Also if you add MORE meat, you’ll have a main dish meal for a busy weeknight when everyone is flying in and out the door at a different time My, my! All these choices!, I’ve made this recipe many times now, and it is my go-to recipe for breakfast casserole I even take this to Church for Easter Sunrise Service Breakfast and it always gets rave reviews I love the fact that you don’t have to make it the night before Sometimes I will brown the hashbrowns a bit before putting them in the dish so they don’t look uncooked , but either way this one in a WINNER! Thanks for sharing!, This was very good! Served it for evening meal last night with mixed fruit salad and whole wheat biscuits We had a soccer game from 5 to 6:30, so I made it early in the day, baked 45 minutes and put in refirgerator to keep until we got home Then baked 30 minutes while getting table set, and biscuits baked I followed the recipe exactly and it was so easy Great for beginners, busy nights, and the budget-mindful
