Directions
Traditional Amish Sugar Cookies,I got this recipe from a friend at school who did a speech on them. She gave us each a sample. They were so good!,I was hoping they’d be more chewy, but overall a good cookie. Next time I’ll add a tsp. of cornstarch, that’s supposed to help make them more soft. Used orange colored sugar on some, cinnamon sugar on other’s, for flavor. used a #40 cookie scoop, and got over 50 cookies!,I have made these often since I found the recipe in my Amish cookbook. I love that it is a delicate crisp cookie that just melts in your mouth. I am not fond of soft doughy sugar cookies. I will never use another recipe. I make it exactly the way the recipe says but am going to try it with add ins next time. chocolate chips or chopped nuts. It tastes so much like a “sandy”
