Clean Your Gas Cook Top Burner Grates,I had tried most everything to clean the porcelain enamel grates on my cooktop with little success. Then I read the use & care guide that came with the cooktop. How simple is this! NOTE: used a plastic trash bag with a tie top. When entering this “recipe”, a plastic bag wasn’t recognized but a ziploc was. Ignore that “ingredient” ;-),I’m not giving this recipe any stars because it worked so well for others I wouldn’t want to discourage anyone from trying it, but it didn’t work at all for me. I tried it as directed and nothing happened, so I read other reviews, tried it again, leaving it on overnight and still nothing, : ( I have a Jenn-Air range with grey grates and it’s tough to keep the grey looking grey, when you cook as much as I do. I was so hoping this would work, but glad it has worked so well for others. Thanks for posting the recipe.,I wish I’d known this 36 years ago when I was first married-I’ve wasted so much time trying to clean those grates at home and at work and the anwser was so cheap, quick and easy. Thanks for posting!

Steps
1
Done
|
Place Grates (and Burner Caps If You Want) in a Plastic Bag. |
2
Done
|
Pour in Ammonia. (the Parts Will not Be Submerged - the Fumes Do the Cleaning). |
3
Done
|
Tie Up the Bag & Wait 30 Minutes. |
4
Done
|
Remove Grates & Rinse Away the Ammonia & Cooked on Food. ( Some of the Really Caked on Residue May Require Minimal Scrubbing but Most Will Dissolve from the Ammonia Fumes.) |

** I Did This Outside but It Would Work Just as Well With the Bag in Your Sink. Tip - Turn the Bag Top Away from You When Opening as the Fumes Will Plume Out. |
