Creamed Chipped Beef, This is a meal that my mother used to make a lot for us kids when we were growing up You can find the dried beef in the grocery store with the pre-packaged lunch meats It goes a long way on a cold day!, I find this recipe a little on the bland side use 4 Tbsp of butter, 4 Tbsp of flour, 2 cups of milk (use evaporated milk a mix of 50% milk and 50% water ) 2 packages of Buddig beef cut into thin strips 1/4 tsp of garlic salt, 1/2 tsp of Marjoram, ground pepper, 2-3 Tbsps of diced pimento and sauted mushrooms Melt the butter in a suitable pan, add the garlic salt, pepper and marjoram, slowly stir in 4 Tbsps of flour and then carefully add the milk stirring constantly until it thickens, add the sliced beef, pimento and mushrooms Serve over biscuits or toast , I loved this recipe I ranked it 4 because it did need a little extra add in I did opt to use fresh corned beef sliced from deli torn up instead of dried chipped beef The salt content was good I did use white peeper instead also a dash of cayenne and a couple dashes of dried mustard powder EXCELLENT!!!!!
