Crispy Wheat Crackers, Great to serve as an appetizer or just a snack , These were great I did change the recipe a little I was out of whole wheat flour and just used all white flour and used clabbered milk ( add tbsp vinegar to milk to sour it) in place of the buttermilk used a pasta machine on the widest setting to roll it out, and it worked great My granddaughter made them into shapes using cookie cutters and we gathered up the scraps many times to run through the pasta machine over and over Just be sure to pat a little flour on the dough before putting into pasta machine, or it gets holes in it We put made several varieties-poppy seeds , sesame seeds, grated parmesean cheese and some with plain salt All were good My grandaughter (8 years old) says they are the greatest way better than store bought Her favorite were the parmesean ones, We may try adding the parm to the dough too next time It is a great snack to make for kids and it is a fun cooking activity for them too , Deeeeeeliscious!! I made plain salted, garlic, and poppy seed I actually like the plain ones best To combat the rolling problem, I put a sheet of tin foil on the bottom with cooking spray and a sheet of wax paper also sprayed on top I got them way thin and didn’t have to wash my rolling pin Then I just baked them on the tin foil I suppose you can roll them directly onto the pan Next time 🙂
