Crystal or Rock Candied Pork Roast, This is from the Diana Liu cookbook. I still haven’t tried this one but will as soon as I can get the rock candy., Hi! This cookbook is called Gourmet Guide to Chinese Cuisine, right? A book with this recipe, calling for picnic-style pork roast and all, was written by my grandmother and her sister in 1965. You can use sugar instead of rock candy- it’s what she made (among other things) for the grandkids when we were little. I’m so glad you put some of her recipes online, she doesn’t use the internet but will be happy to hear that somebody is enjoying the food. -Maureen, This is from the Diana Liu cookbook. I still haven’t tried this one but will as soon as I can get the rock candy.
