Dark Chocolate Ice Cream

    used an immersion blender to mix and then propped it on the side of the bowl while I plugged in my ice cream machine. The next thing I knew was the blender flipped the bowl over and my kitchen and myself were covered with chocolate liquid. Don't do what I did! I was able to salvage some of the mixture, churned it, and it turned out fantastic. The bonus, I guess, is that I had to run a laundry, wash my kitchen floor, counters, and cabinets and used up enough calories to enjoy the ice cream. Oh, I did tweak it somewhat by using bittersweet chocolate and 1/3 of the sugar. Delicious!

    Melt Chocolate in Double Boiler Over Hot (not Boiling) Water.

    Gradually Whisk in Milk, Stir Until Smooth.

    Remove from Heat and Let It Cool.

    Whisk Eggs in a Mixing Bowl Until Light and Fluffy.

    Gradually Whisk in Sugar, Then Continue Whisking 1 Minute, Until Completely Blended.

    Add the Cream, Vanilla, and Salt; Whisk.
