Wenatchee Applesauce Muffins, Wenatchee, Washington is the apple growing center of the Northwest More than 40% of our nation’s appples are grown in this area As a result, apple recipes are abundant , Wonderful muffins! These are light, nicely textured muffins with great flavor Raisins and walnuts are a delicious addition, and the spices go well with the applesauce I got 12 larger muffins, and baked 15 minutes at 425 Even though the recipe only calls for 1/4 cup butter, they taste buttery Would suggest getting the batter into muffin tins and baking right away, the leavening went to work pretty fast Will make again! Thanks for sharing the recipe!, I can’t honestly rate this recipe, as I found myself with only 1/2 cup of applesauce and had to make some substitutions because of it ( I filled in the missing applesauce with 1/4 cup each sour cream and water ) However, I will definitely make these muffins again and then will be happy to assign a rating I did find the nutmeg a bit overwhelming, so would probably cut back on that and bump up the cinnamon I might also lower the amount of salt, or use unsalted butter The recipe easily made 12 standard-sized muffins and were done in just under 17 minutes
