Delicious Lentil Chili, A rich savory vegetarian chili that’s easy to make and smells wonderful. High in fiber and low in fat. It even looks like meaty chili see pic!. Serve topped with cheese, onions and sour cream with cornbread or chips for a satisfying meal!, Very bland. used 4 tablespoons of chili powder, 5 cloves of garlic, kidney beans, tomato paste, 4 carrots, 3 stalks of celery, and fresh cilantro. I still found it very bland. It tasted good, but was not chili more like a thick lentil dish. Be sure to fully cook the lentils before adding the other ingredients. In my experience they took longer than 30 minutes to cook., I unfortunately felt this recipe lacking. This was my first time cooking with lentils and was excited that it was meatless. I think it could of used more seasoning and I due to personal preference I would of liked it to be thicker.

Boil Water. |

Cover and Cook Over Low Heat 30 Minutes. |

Add Tomatoes, Chili Powder, Cumin, Oregano, Onion, Celery, Garlic and Cold Water. |

Cover and Continue to Cook Over Low Heat For an Additional 30 Minutes, Stirring Once or Twice. |

Turn Off Heat, Taste For Seasoning. |

I Add About 1 Teaspoon Salt and 1/8 Teaspoon Pepper. |

Top With Shredded Cheese, Chopped Onion and a Dollop of Sour Cream or Whatever You Usually Put on Your Favorite Chili! |
