My mother also made up this recipe in the 1960's. I like the idea of trying them with pecans. My mother always used almonds. I have also made them by first briefly soaking the dates in rum before stuffing them.

Stuffed Dates,I found this recipe looking for Middle Eastern recipes for ZWT6 and realized that as far back as I can remember this was exactly the way my mom and paternal grandmother made stuffed dates for the holidays using our Louisiana pecans. So very good considering its simplicity.,My mother also made up this recipe in the 1960’s. I like the idea of trying them with pecans. My mother always used almonds. I have also made them by first briefly soaking the dates in rum before stuffing them.,I remember my mom making these for holidays back in the 1950’s when I was very young. She stuffed the dates with whole walnuts or walnut halves and rolled them in granulated sugar, and arranged them on a cut-glass plate. This just brought back memories.
