Donut Balls (Healthy, Yes Healthy),These luscious morsels are a pure taste of heaven. I make these quite often, and my 11 year old nephew requests them all the time, and he even knows they are healthy. Once again, a wonderful recipe from Joann Lund. I am posting this for my wonderful friends at WLB2006. Each serving (2 doughnuts) is only 1 Starch Exchange. I don’t know the exact calories, but a starch serving is 80 calories. Family and friends won’t believe these are healthy. Yes, it is 1 cup and 2 tablespoons of reduced fat Bisquick, computer wouldn’t let me put in 1 Cup + 2 tablespoons.,There is nothing healthy about these. Even “heart smart” bisquick is GMO, causes inflamation & not healthy. Neither is splenda, candy coating or egg substitute.I would not feed this to my family.,***These are very UNhealthy! So many are fooled into believing as to what is called “healthy substitutes”. A few years ago I would have probably tried this myself as sweets have always been a downfall for me. Splenda is chemically made and is a toxin that many (many diabetic & calorie watchers) use today. Coconut sugar is natural, organic & has a low GI. Bisquick, wheat flour – ummm, no! Both are horrible for you unless you use an organic whole wheat non gmo certified wheat flour. Although it may state no gmo’s the process in what they go through from beginning to end is scary. Wheat is not the same as it used to be people! Coconut flour is by far safer. Ghee or grass fed butter is your best choice for your stomach – please think twice and educate yourself on the truths of processed foods and sugars/sugar substitutes.
