Dorothy Lynch Salad Dressing

Features:
    Cuisine:

I don't understand the instructions that say to make it thicker, add a little cornstarch. Adding cornstarch to a cold mixture will not thicken it. Cornstarch needs to be mixed with a little bit of water to make a slurry and then added into a mixture that is near boiling temperature, stir constantly and then the mixture will eventually thicken. Should the instructions be modified to fully explain how to use cornstarch to thicken the mixture? Thank you.

Dorothy Lynch Salad Dressing,My husband’s grandma gave us this recipe and it tastes just like the real thing. Very easy to make (if my husband can make it anyone can!). He made a double batch and that gave us about two quart canning jars full.,I don’t understand the instructions that say to make it thicker, add a little cornstarch.
