Dressed Up Italian Green Beans

Features:
    Cuisine:

First I have to confess that I'm not a fan of green beans - I don't hate them, I just think they're boring. This recipe seemed like a good way to jazz them up a little and it was. This makes a lot, so I do suggest cutting this in half. The first thing I realized was that I wanted more mushrooms and I had used an entire 8 oz package. The water chestnuts gave it a nice crunch. I thought the Italian seasoning was just a touch overpowering; maybe 3/4 tsp would be better. But even with all these lovely ingredients, I still didn't love the beans (better than eating them plain, though!)

Dressed up Italian Green Beans, Green beans were never a favorite vegetable of mine, until I tasted this version of them Try to use fresh green beans, but frozen will work in a pinch This is wonderful with asparagus also!, First I have to confess that I’m not a fan of green beans – I don’t hate them, I just think they’re boring This recipe seemed like a good way to jazz them up a little and it was This makes a lot, so I do suggest cutting this in half The first thing I realized was that I wanted more mushrooms and I had used an entire 8 oz package The water chestnuts gave it a nice crunch I thought the Italian seasoning was just a touch overpowering; maybe 3/4 tsp would be better But even with all these lovely ingredients, I still didn’t love the beans (better than eating them plain, though!), I made these today for a family gathering and they turned out great! I first cooked the green beans in chicken broth and drained I love mushrooms and I had a lot of green beans so used two packages of sliced baby bellas I also used more onion, added about a tablespoon of minced garlic, no water chestnuts, a little less oil and pretty much doubled the seasonings I put fresh grated parmesan on the top and that added a lot of flavor Will definitely make this again since it was very flavorful and really easy to put together Thanks for posting!
