Easy “drop” Doughnuts,My husband can remember standing on a chair at the table to be tall enough to watch his Grandma make doughnuts. Unfortunately I can’t find her recipe but this one is from a different German Grandma and sounds much easier than what he describes to me! From Good Ol Cotton Pickin Recipes, Burton Cotton Gin, Burton, TX,these donuts are amazing very easy to make, very tasty and not too sweet. we used a teaspoon ice cream scoop to make donut holes.,These were certainly easy, tasty, and quick to make. But they seemed more like extremely fluffy pancakes rather than doughnuts to me. Also, there is a strong tendency for the outside to cook to dark brown while the inside is still raw, unless made super tiny, so if you make them, don’t get the oil too hot and cook low and slow – and keep them mini.
