Easy Homemade Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

The recipe is excellent. It could use a bit more explanation on how to roll the dough - roll the short side or the long side. I read various thoughts in other recipes but I'd say this would have been better to roll the short side so you get more revolutions in the roll. I ended up with just about 1 1/2 total revolutions but I'm new at this. There are comments about rolling loosely to help minimize higher centers so I tried to roll loosely and put 6 rolls in a 9x13 pan. Next time I'm going to flatten the dough more, roll the short side, and probably put all 12 rolls in the same pan; we like high, fluffy, rolls. The taste was fantastic as was the dough quality. Any less-than-perfect results I had were lack of experience. My far-more-experienced wife tried to tell me but I read it on the Internet... I had to apologize to her long-past grandmother. I'll do better next time. I did add the extra 1/4 cup of liquid (used milk) that others recommend because I wanted big and fluffy. The only other change is that I added 1/2 tablespoon of water to the icing. At first, following the recipe exactly, I put the mixer into the mix and turned it onto its lowest setting and I got powdered sugar in places that I'll be cleaning for weeks to get it all. Next I tried entering the mix with the mixer already running and just got more of the same - but I was expecting it so I actually got less but the same. I tried premixing with a fork but it was still so dry and powdery that I knew it would be a mess. I added a half-tablespoon of water and the fork premix made something I could work with. Then I brought in the mixer and made a fantastic icing for my cinnamon rolls.
