Easy Tea Biscuits

Features:
    Cuisine:

I read some comments before making these and a few mentioned it was too salty. I'm not a fan of salty food so I cut the salt by half, and set the oven to 400 instead of 425. They looked great - golden brown and crispy on the outside, fluffy and moist on the inside, but the true test is how they taste and this recipe fell short... they were still way too salty. Whoever created this recipe obviously loves salty food because these went straight into the bin because they were not edible. I gave it 1 star because I'm not even going to try tweaking this recipe more than I already did - better off starting with a good recipe than messing around with this poorly created recipe..

Easy Tea Biscuits, Came from a news paper It’s super easy They can be very crumbly b/c there is no egg to hold them together You can mix in shredded cheese, or cinnamon and brown sugar, etc to make them your own , I read some comments before making these and a few mentioned it was too salty I’m not a fan of salty food so I cut the salt by half, and set the oven to 400 instead of 425 They looked great – golden brown and crispy on the outside, fluffy and moist on the inside, but the true test is how they taste and this recipe fell short they were still way too salty Whoever created this recipe obviously loves salty food because these went straight into the bin because they were not edible I gave it 1 star because I’m not even going to try tweaking this recipe more than I already did – better off starting with a good recipe than messing around with this poorly created recipe , 5 stars after a few adjustments I mixed the flour, baking powder, and just a pinch of salt in a mixer bowl, then I added the margarine, but it didn’t become corse so I added 1/4 cup more margarine I cut the milk by 1/4 The dough was perfect I pour it out onto a well floured board, floured my hand and pat it down to a little higher than 1/4 inch used my grandmothers handed down biscuit cutter This made 8 biscuits with two more hand formed biscuits from the left-over dough I cooked them in a conventional oven for 15 minutes, and then toasted them for another 5 minutes so they would be golden brown They were the most perfect biscuits I have ever made Flaky in the center, soft and moist, but crispy, brown and beautiful on the outside I almost didn’t make these because of the images that others had uploaded Mine tasted and looked like KFC biscuits
