Whole Wheat Molasses Bread (bread Machine),This is a delicious hearty loaf, perfect for cinnamon toast.,I have tried an insane amount of bread recipes and can say that this is a solid go to recipe. I have used it before and use it as a measurement base and mixture for all the varieties I make. Following a high cholosterol count and some stomach problems, I am forced to do some low fat lifestyle changes. And since giving up bread is off the table (or on the table…lol?), I seek out alternatives and am tweaking recipes in a healthy direction. Some of my changes – used 1% milk and added a T of Carnation dried milk, and a T of dark chocolate cocoa powder (to go w/the molasses – seriously does not taste like chocolate but is delicious in there). Some subtituions were Smart Balace Heart Healthy spread instead of butter (am amazed how buttery it still tasted and is soooo much healthier!), one cup of bread flour, a half cup each of almond flour and oat flour – along w/the two cups of whole wheat flour. Also, I turned my bread maker off after the long whole-wheat dough cycle, punched it down in the pan, and let it rise again in there for about 1.5 hours more. Then, I took it out, rolled it into a loaf, and put it in a cold (non preheated) oven at 300 degrees for about 45 minutes. It is amazingly delicious!,I have tried so many recipes for bread-machine whole-wheat bread, and theyve all been tough, dry, and tasteless. Not this! Flavorful, moist, and fluffy. Wow!
