Famous Dave’s Creamy Sweet & Sour Coleslaw, This is one of the only times I ever use Miracle Whip (We are a Hellman’s/Best Foods Family ) We just love a good coleslaw and there are a lot of different variations This particular recipe is from Famous Dave’s and one of our favorites , My wife has fond memories of the slaw at Kingfish Restaurants in the Louisville, Ky, area growing up She loves creamy slaw with Ritz or Captain’s Wafers for a snack as well as other uses as a side, etc THIS SLAW is THE TASTE for her (and I also like it as a creamy slaw bearing in mind that Mike Mill’s Crunchy Cole Slaw has its place as a vinegar based recipe, too!) Since I keep a hot prepared horseradish on hand, I reduced the horseradish to 1T and the white pepper to 1t so that it would not be too hot for her liking Adjust the heat to your liking by adding the heat ingredients last in increments until you have the taste you prefer , Lots of potential here I normally tolerate hot, spicy food well, but this had too much white pepper for my liking I only used 1/3 cup of sugar (Splenda actually) and next time I will start with 1/2 the amount of white pepper and horseradish and move up from there by taste Love Famous Dave’s (see my recipe for Famous Dave’s Roast Chicken Breasts — yummo!)
