Fresh Tomato Sandwich, The most important thing, obviously, about this sandwich is the tomato It needs to be ripe and grown close by; not from the supermarket , Nice, simple, and oh so tasty!! This will be even better when I have my fresh from the garden tomatoes instead of the run of the mill supermarket ones Thanks!!, This just tickles me!! Take away the cheese and the Italian seasoning and you have a staple in any southerners book The tomato sandwich, best eaten over the sink as it is juicy I have made them with cheese before, and the additional seasoning isn’t going to detract Tomatoes must be cut thick, and if from a LOCAL garden (especially yours), all the better!! Basic tomato sandwich: 2 slices of bread (good ole’ white bread) thick tomato slices to cover bread mayo cover both insides of bread with mayo, add tomato, salt & pepper to taste Go outside or over the sink and eat
