Fried Bologna Sandwiches Southern Style

Features:
    Cuisine:

I haven't eaten bologna in decades but I'm visiting my parents and noticed that my dad had one slice left of thick cut Oscar Mayer bologna. I figured I'd make him a fried bologna sandwich as part of his lunch. I googled to see how long to fry it and came across this recipe so I figured I'd share how I did it. Fried an egg and the bologna at the same time in a large pan. When they were almost done I toasted honey wheat bread and put mayo and cheese on one slice and mustard and cheese on the other. Yes it was French's. : ) He loved it. Thanks for the tip about cutting it so it wouldn't curl! used to hate that as a kid when my mom would make it for breakfast with grits. I can't add any stars to rate this since I didn't use this recipe.

Melt the Butter in a Frying Pan and Cut Several Slits in the Edges of the Slices to Keep Them from Curling. Fry to Your Liking (some Like Them Crisp: Others Just Like It Warmed). Melt Cheese on Top If Desired. Put Between Hamburger Buns, Spread With Mustard, and Enjoy!
