German Apple Cake

We loved it!! I read all the reviews and used a few suggestions. I cut the sugar in half and did saut my apples and raisins. Lined the pan with parchment paper and sprayed it with shortening. Cooked it for 45 minutes and it looked a little underdone. 10 minutes later it was just a tad burnt on the bottom but delicious. If you didnt have to spend 20 minutes peeling and slicing apples this might become a daily addition. Someone mentioned canned pie filling. Hmmm! ?? Brought it as dessert for lunch dusted with some powdered sugar and it got great reviews. Would be perfect for a pot luck or church breakfast. I cant comment on the recipe as written, but with the tweaks definitely give it 5 stars.

German Apple Cake,This moist flavorful cake is an old standby for potlucks and picnics. My sister gave me the recipe after she got tired of making it for me so often.,We loved it!! I cant comment on the recipe as written, but with the tweaks definitely give it 5 stars.,Overall, it was pretty good, and super easy to make. I decreased the sugar to 1 cup, and I thought it was still a bit too sweet for my taste. Next time, I’ll add more cinnamon, and sautee the apples in butter first, and add raisins as someone else noted in the reviews. Adding walnuts would improve it as well. Definitely will make again since it was so easy.
