4 bacon slices chopped
1 cup shallot sliced
3 tablespoons olive oil
6 garlic cloves chopped
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can tomatoes diced
1 (8 ounce) bottle clam juice
1/2 cup white wine
1/2 teaspoon saffron thread
2 (15 ounce) cans white beans drained
1 1/2 lbs halibut fillets cut into chunks

    In a Large Pot Over Medium High Heat Saute the Bacon and Shallots Until Bacon Is Crisp (5-10 Minutes).

    Stir in Olive Oil and Garlic and Cook Stirring Another Minute or So.

    Stir in Tomatoes, Wine and Saffron and Bring to a Boil. Reduce Heat and Simmer For 5 Minutes.

    Stir in Beans and Fish and Bring Stew to a Simmer. Cover; and Simmer Until Fish Is Done (5 Minutes).

    Season With Salt and Pepper.
